Grand Rounds
Trent McBride is hosting a session of Ground Rounds at Catallarchy.net. Although I have not known of Ground Rounds until Trent apprised me of its existence, it appears to be a weekly session of posts related to medical issues by (mainly) medical students. Trent hosts this session with posts mainly by non-medical students or related professionals, focusing mostly on economic ways of thinking about medical care.
It's a good read.
Here's one of the best posts. Doctors seem to have anxieties about dealing with their patients just as patients have anxieties about seeing their doctors. What's it like for a male doctor examining a pretty female patient? Oh to have those troubles. (Sorry Carol.)
The physical exam becomes a torture of anxiety and all hell breaks loose in my head. “Touch there or don’t? But I have to touch there, but will she think I have to touch there or not? Oh god. Need bag, h y p e r ve n t i l a t i n g, vision fading b l a c k.
Correction: most of the medical blogosphere, and most of grand rounds, is inhabited by practicing physicians. Oh, if only my student colleagues cared about more than just their next test, so that they more time to blog.
Thanks for the link.

How is a "ground round" different from a "grand round"?
