KeithUrban.com

This seems heavy handed on the part of Keith Urban (the singer Urban, not the artist). But for law and econ students, this conflict offers a great study of a potential Coasean solution.

The Keith Urban you have likely heard of – the country music star also married to superstar actress Nicole Kidman – last week filed a federal lawsuit against a New Jersey man named Keith D. Urban over the use of the Internet domain name www.keithurban.com.

Mike Rowe Soft.

Heavy handed and bad PR. This is what happend when people listen to their lawyers and not their common sense.

I visited Keith urban.com a couple of years ago ,
after getting hooked on Keith Urban The singer
AND YES
I found it very misleading
..starting with the Google adds about his music concerts at the top...
(which now isee have sneakily changed to Disney adds..
Urban, the painter, profits from allowing a Google ad on his site.
apparently he doesn't control the content. That is chosen by Google based on which topics might be relevant to the site's users.

BUT if Google chooses it based on what topics might be relevant....
then why keith urban concert adds....if the site is that of a painter?

ALSO The main heading of the site said...

"You have reached the site of Keith Urban. To those who don't know, oil painting is one of my hobbies."

I truly thought it was the singers personal website
I even e-mailed the painter Keith a few years ago,to tell him i thought his music was great

the painter never e-mailed me back to tell me i had the wrong person

I am so lucky i didn't hav a credit card or i would have bought one of his paintings thinking it was done by the singer.

In my opinion,as well as that of a lot of people i know
that the painter intentionally set up his site that way to lure people into buying his paintings

That is wrong...and i believe he knows it

SHAME ON YOU Keith Urban "the painter"

if i had bought that painting then and later found out you weren't the singer I WOULD HAVE sued you to!!

very sincerely
Brenda
